Introduction

The SharePoint Architect analyzes the agencies information architecture, understands institutional and departmental requirements, to design and develop organizational taxonomies, policies, procedures, and solutions.
As a SharePoint Architect, individual will be required to design and implement an appropriate portal solution that aligns with various departments’ vision. · Collaborate with various programming and product groups within the agency to ensure the required features and modifications are included in the appropriate releases to support cross-product features.
· Extensive knowledge writing code for custom web parts and features and is experienced deploying list and site templates.
· Solid experience with UI development (Web Forms, JavaScript, DHTML/HTML, XML/XSLT) and business logic development. Expert in creating SharePoint templates using XHTML and including ASP.NET code and other SharePoint-specific markups.
· Complete knowledge of SharePoint Web parts, their use, and how they are customized and applied to SharePoint templates, especially those used for Web publishing and collaboration.
· Demonstrate a deep knowledge of workflows and event handlers and demonstrate experience packaging custom code for building and deploying solutions

Skills
· MCTS certifications in Microsoft Office SharePoint Services (MOSS) configuration and/or development preferred.

Position Details
My client is looking for someone with strong SharePoint UI / Design and Customization experience. The initial need is for someone to come in and do some customizations in SharePoint Designer 2010. They are currently running MOSS 2007 for the external users and have SharePoint 2010 installed. The visual upgrade has not been implemented yet. The migration of 2010 will need to be done on one of the servers. The environment is two servers (one internal and one that’s used for external / internal users). They have approximately 300 users in the organization. This is 64 bit environment and they will need someone to install SQL Server 2008 R2 server soon after phase 1 of the portal redesign. They are currently running SQL Server Express Edition 2008. The long term need would have someone to create a development environment. At this point they currently do not have a test area for development projects.
